This cafe (Coffeebar) was surprisingly quaint, with it being in Gastown. The walls were mostly window, and the lighting was perfect! Sophie didn't mind if I used her for a few candids. I love the parallel lines in here, and the glass bottle of ginger ale adds a nice touch of saturation.
I wonder what's going on in their lives to make them so moody. It could be their parents giving them a hard time, they could be struggling in school, their pet died, their grandma's not feeling to well, or maybe they went through a breakup. But, I just thought, "hey, whatever it is, the moodiness must not go to waste."
I've started a series that compares parts of the human body to things in nature. I don't usually know exactly how a photo idea is going to look before I've taken it but, for this I did and it turned out exactly how I'd hoped. I'd been looking at my hair while it was still damp after a wash, and the ends were so fluffy. Later on in the day I was walking down the street and had my camera around my neck and I stopped to look at a tree and it reminded me of my fluffy hair. If you ask someone what they find to be most beautiful, it tends to be something not man-made like: trees, water, mountains, ice, flowers, or leaves. But these elements of nature share so much with things that aren't considered to be "beautiful" in our society such as, body hair, pores, unshorn hair, and stretch marks.
This is from a photoshoot I did with a new friend, Amy, at Crescent Beach. Originally, the water was blue and the skyline was visible. The water was freezing cold and she had step in and out of the water to get some photos.
I was playing around with the hue's while editing and it gave me an idea.
I have to upgrade to post the video on here, so above is the link to the video on my Instagram. Today Sara and I, took out time to to a fun glow-in-the-dark photoshoot. I hadn't planned on doing a multiple exposure with some of the images but, I did, and I erased the blackness for the layers underneath to stand out. This is my favourite of the three images, because of the feel of the photo. Here the neon seems to symbolize emotion and Sara's expression appears as a reflection of that emotion. I hadn't expected a meaningful photo, it kind of sneaked up on me.
I absolutely love when things go as planned, and yesterday morning was just that. I don't have class in the mornings on day 2's and 4's, but had to be at school for a meeting. As I got ready, I pondered where and how, else I could spend my time. I decided that I would walk through the Huff Greenway, and carry on to Watershed Park, and go get coffee and lunch for my way back to school. I had brought my camera, and it made my morning that much more lovely.
